Keep your playing times limited to no more than three or four hours. If you’ve already had plenty of ring of death shutdowns, then your machine probably has suffered a lot of damage. Avoiding the ring of death may not be feasible by keeping your Xbox cool. If your machine has had substantial heat damage, things will get progressively worse with time. 3.) Fix the console yourself. Before you try this option, remember that opening your console voids your warranty. But if you have an expired or voided warranty, then there’s nothing to lose and are free to open up and work inside of your console. Working within your Xbox can be very intimidating.
