One of the main reasons that I suggested you pair Engineering with Mining is that you’ll need a lot of metal in order to upskill your profession. Mining can give this to you. Furthermore, mining is a great gathering profession to have as its one of the most profitable in WoW.

One negative you might come across as an Enineer is that you won’t be able to sell everything you create. That’s because not all players can use the items you create, some items are just too technical for non-engineers. You can still make a wide variety of items that will serve as cash cows however, so go after the gold with those.
