Fishing is what’s known as a secondary profession that you can add to your 2 primary professions in WoW. Fishing is a gathering profession that lets you fish in the many waters in the WoW realm and also improve your hunting skills.

Some items that you get through fishing can be consumed, while others can be cooked to further enhance their effects. If you’re a hunter, you can use your catch to feed your pets. Reagents can also be found through fishing, and so can treasure chests.

You can start fishing once you reach level five. To start fishing you first need to talk to a fishing trainer who will teach you the basics. Fishing trainers are different for each race and all the trainers can be found at the waters edge where you start fishing.

You can find trainer located at various other spots throughout the game, but the following locations are where you must begin.

Humans start fishing around the Goldshire area, Taurens fish in the lake just North of Bloodhoof Village, Dwarves and Gnomes start just North of Brownall Village. Orcs and trolls begin in the Sea to the South of Sen’jin Village and the Undead start at the lake due East of Brill.

If you’re a Night Elf, you can choose to start fishing in the sea close to Rut’Theran Village, the lake near Dolenaar, or in the water around Darnassus.

High level characters that are just starting out with fishing are able to start anywhere they please.

Some experienced WoW players like to spread their fishing leveling over time. I=They like to grown their fishing ability little by little as their characters level. One thing you might want to try which has work well in the past, is to max out your fishing ability to 150 at level 10. By doing this you will be able to use your fishing pole as a powerful weapon.

Fishing is an easy and useful profession to learn, all it requires is some patience. Once you have a high fishing skill however you will be able to fish the waters of Azshara and get massive payouts in short periods of time. Taking the time to master this profession usually pay’s off big time.

Hockey is a game that involves many different types of penalties. You can expect any game that has blood in the rule book to require the intervention of the referees on a regular basis.

Penalties come in a variety of categories. There are both minor and major penalties, and variants of those. There are also severe misconduct, game misconduct, and match penalties which can be incurred. Below is a basic explanation of these penalties and how they are enforced.

The most common type of penalty assessed in hockey is the minor penalty. If a player earns a minor penalty he is sent to the penalty box for two to four minutes of time. Most minor penalties are two minutes in duration. While the player is in the penalty box, his team will play short-handed. If the opposing team is able to score a goal during the time of the penalty, then the penalty ends immediately and the player is allowed back on the ice. If both teams have incurred simultaneous minor penalties, then neither team is considered to be playing short handed, so a goal would not end a minor penalty in this event, however, the penalty time would be cut in half. If multiple players on a team earn simultaneous minor penalties, they are put into the penalty box. The penalty time on the second player does not begin to run down until the first player is removed from the box. If the opposing team scores while there are multiple players in the penalty box then the first minor penalty is ended. The remaining penalty needs to be served in its entirety.

Common infractions which result in a minor penalty include: holding, holding the stick, cross-checking, interference, delaying the game, tripping, hooking, slashing, roughing, and high-sticking. Sometimes, a player may incur a double minor. A penalty resulting in a double minor could be high-sticking that results in a laceration. Incurring a double minor means the player will serve two consecutive minor penalties. This penalty is typically assessed when a player is caught high-sticking and causes a laceration to the opposing player. If a goal occurs during a double minor then the first penalty expires, however, the second penalty must still be served out as a regular minor penalty. If the entire team is assessed a penalty as a whole, this is called a bench minor. Any player, other than the goalie, might be selected to serve the bench penalty.

Major penalties are assessed on more severe offences. Generally, a major penalty results in the player being removed from the ice for five minutes. Infractions that typically result in major penalties include: boarding, spearing, charging, and butt-ending. Major penalties result in the team playing short-handed for five minutes. If a goal is scored during the time a player is serving a major penalty, the penalty does not expire as it would with a minor penalty. If both teams have incurred a major penalty then they may substitute for that player and the teams do not play short handed on that penalty. Most often, major penalties are assessed for fighting.

In the event that a player accrues three major penalties during a game, he is then assessed a misconduct penalty. A misconduct penalty results in the player being removed from the game for ten minutes. The team is allowed to substitute a player. After the penalty has expired, the offending player may return to the ice at the first stoppage of the game, unless other penalties have been assessed.

Generally, misconduct is called for various types of unsportsmanlike conduct or in the event that a player has incurred two or more major penalties during one game. If a player is assessed a game misconduct penalty, he is ejected from the game. The team can immediately bring in a substitute player since the penalty was assessed against the individual player and not the team.

Any player who is ejected from the game three times during the season earns a one-game ban. Further discipline is possible in the event of subsequent ejections. When a player is banned from a game, he loses his salary for that game. Often that money is donated to a league-supported charity.

Another penalty that results in ejection from a game is a match penalty. Match penalties are assessed when there is a deliberate attempt by one player to injure another. The team then selects a player to serve the penalty; the goalie is not eligible. That player serves five minutes in the penalty box while the team plays short-handed. The player who incurred the match penalty is suspended from play for his next game. There is also the possibility of additional punishment, as deemed appropriate by the league.

Finally, if an infraction results in the opposing team missing a scoring opportunity, then the opposing team is given a penalty shot. They are allowed one unimpeded shot at the goal, with only the goalie of the offending team left to protect the net.
